Troy Haywood

Growing up as a competitive dancer, Troy has always been passionate about self-expression and self-awareness through body movement. After graduating high-school in 2007, Troy moved to Miami, Florida to pursue a career as a dancer which led him to travel all over the world, from Los Angeles to New York to Barcelona to Portugal. It was not until he settled back down at home in Charlotte that he discovered yoga and a brand new outlook on his life.

In 2011, Troy took his first yoga class in hopes to supplement his dance training as he was beginning to shift his focus from performing to teaching. His practice not only began opening his mind to new ways of moving but also new ways of reaching out and connecting with the kids he taught. With this new insight, Troy began diving deeper into his yoga practice over the next seven years.

Since then Troy has gone on to complete is 200-Hour RYT and is excited to begin marrying his love of teaching dance with his love of yoga. Troy’s classes are sure to bring out your playful side all while challenging you and keeping the focus on what yoga is all about for him: connection over competition, always.

Our teachers will give plenty of modifications s and encourage the use of props to support the practice and those who have tight muscles and limited mobility. You will learn the principles of alignment, breath and movement -- while enjoying the peace and tranquilly that yoga brings!
